The Sonora Grill is a locally owned and operated restaurant. We have a passion for mexican cuisine. From our zesty salsa made with habaneros, moritas, or tomatillos, to our slow roasted Cochinta Pibil our kitchen is busy trying to exceed our customers expectations by serving breathtaking, savory food.
Here at the Sonora Grill we have a wonderful staff who is committed to not just selling food, but selling experience. We work together to provide each and every customer with the opportunity to have a great experience with our food and service. Our ultimate goal as a staff is to build relationships that can set us apart as one of Ogden’s best mexican restaurants.
For me, the Hospitality business is a perfect fit. I love food , I love serving people, I love the fast pace, and I love the challenge of succeeding and making things better.
I have been involved in the food business since I was 16 years old. My first job in the food business was as a night manager for Chick-fil-a in the Ogden city mall. I have been a baker, dishwasher, bus boy, caterer, waiter, and restaurant manager. In 2004, as a junior in college, I helped a college roommate open Café Sabor, in the old Logan train station. Café Sabor was an overnight sensation and one of Logan’s most popular restaurants. Two and half years later we opened Hamilton's Steak and Seafood, also in Logan. While in Logan, I finished a BA in Organizational Management from Utah State University and started a family.
In 2007, I left Logan to open Sonora Grill in Ogden, Utah. Sonora Grill has quickly become one of Ogden’s premier restaurants. Sonora has won a long list of awards, including Best Mexican Restaurant in Utah, Best Margarita in Utah, and Best Salsa in Utah.
I have a great love for Ogden City and the community that I live in. I have served as Board President for the Ogden-Weber Visitor & Convention Bureau, and board member for the Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Ogden Inc.
